Thanks for visiting our page for raising money for the Getacross Campaign.

This is a very exciting project to build a walk and cycle way on the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

If you have walked across the Bridge (on an official tour) or cycled across it (unofficially, as some of us did on the Bridge's 50th anniversary, see photo below!), you'll know how magnificent a journey it is - Auckland at its best.

Even if you have only driven across, I'm sure you can easily imagine how delightful the walk or ride would be.

To do so, though we need a walking and cycling path on the Bridge. A great amenity in itself, it will be a crucial connector between beautiful routes for walkers and cyclists on both sides of the harbour.

Hopefully it will also introduce more people to the pleasures of cycling and walking.

Led by Bevan Woodward, a transport consultant, the Getacross Campaign has been working long and hard on this this attractive, practical proposal.

Auckland Mayor Len Brown strongly endorses the project, as do consulting engineers. And it is gradually gaining the support of government.

But the Getacross Campaign urgently needs $6,000 to help fund more work from consulting engineers to satisfy the government's transport agency.

The Heart of the City, the CBD business association, has contributed $4,000...and we at the Hikurangi Foundation are helping raise more.

We've set a target of $25,000 so the Getacross Campaign can respond speedily as the project progresses.

You can learn more about Hikurangi on the right of this page. Click either on our website or the 'more' button for a brief description of our work.

So as a very keen cyclist and a trustee of Hikurangi Foundation, please may I seek your help in raising money for the Getacross Campaign?

All you need to do is select the 'Make a donation' button below. It's simple, fast and totally secure.

If you live in New Zealand your donation is tax deductible and the Hikurangi Foundation will instantly issue you a receipt by email.

Thanks for your support!

For more details of the project, you can get to www.getacross.org.nz by clicking on any of the captions on the left.

Wishing you all the best for your rides and walks.
