The children of the Gifted Education Centre's One Day Schools (tm) are looking to raise much needed funds. The nice people from Mattel have provided Scrabble sets - so we are going to play sponsored Scrabble during Awareness Week (15th-21st June).

To prove that the razor sharp wit of the standup comedian is no match for intelligence, I will be challenging two former One Day School students to a Scrabble-to-the-Death, winner takes all, no-holds barred battle of the lexicons. Watch them gasp as I double, nay triple my points, the ferocity of my tiles no match for their meagre two letter scores...

I'm helping because gifted children have higher levels of depression and under-achievement. When they reach adulthood, they are over-represented in the prison population, and in the suicide statistics. Unrecognised gifted children are often labelled as trouble makers. What a waste.

$600 will provide a term's worth of One Day Schooling for one child; $2400 will provide a scholarship for one child for a whole year. But every dollar donated will go towards making a HUGE difference.
