Dear Friends, Family & Business Associates,

As you may know by now, my hometown of Christchurch New Zealand was hit with a 6.3 magnitude earthquake on February 22. The quake has caused wide spread damage, bursting sewage lines, damaging buildings and homes, cutting power and telephone lines to many areas of the city.

There is significant loss of life and many lovely historic buildings are in ruins...a very sad situation that will affect the community for years to come. Luckily our family & friends are OK but the community is devastated.

The New Zealand Red Cross has launched the "New Zealand Red Cross 2011 Earthquake Appeal" to support those affected by this quake.

All funds will be used towards the New Zealand Red Cross response to the disaster, including transport and provision of goods. As weeks go by, different needs will be identified and Red Cross, there for the long haul with your help, will be meeting them.

I understand that these are challenging economic times for everyone however any donation that you can make regardless of the amount will be warmly welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Please note that your donation will be in NZ dollars and may not be tax deductible in the US.
