Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
In 2004, the New Zealand Organisation for Rare Disorders (NZORD) set up a research arm – the New Zealand Institute for Rare Diseases Research Ltd (NZIRDR).
We promote, encourage and facilitate rare disease research in New Zealand and around the world.
Until recently, the most visible part of NZIRDR has been the early stages of the New Zealand Rare Disease Biobank, and an online ‘virtual’ collection of unique animal models of human genetic diseases.
We have now expanded the remit of NZIRDR to include a directory of NZ rare disease researchers. And we are working on the development of a patient centred registry, broadening the scope of the Biobank and other rare disease initiatives, but we need your help to do it.
