Hi There, I'm Pete Sharp thanks for coming here and hearing our story.
One of my lovely daughters Jorja (a Cure Kids ambassador) has burns to her chest from a freshly poured cup of tea when she was 18 months old; Jorja is now 5 years old. Cure Kids have helped us overcome Jorja's burns, with kids parties and cool events and of course there amazing research into childrens often life threatening illness and diseases. It cost just $20,000 to fund a skin bank for New Zealand burns victims...Its not a lot really!!
The pain I go through doing this event will last for a day or two, The pain these Kids that you are supporting go through are every day. These kids live with Spina bifida, cystic fibrous, Burns and leukaemia on a daily basis, they wake in the morning and have a routine that will be a lot different to most of us. They have to inject themselves, swallow pills and look at their scars in the mirror; they usually are on some form of waiting List for surgery or treatments. Your support goes a long way to helping these kids and their families, its not just the child effected its their whole family that have live with their illness too. If you ever need inspiration in life, Please take it from these kids that live with this sort of pain and uncertainty on a daily basis.
I would also take this opportunity to personally thank my wife louise for all her support and time,I would also like to thank Angela, Pip, Thelma, Deon and the rest of the team at Cure kids. These people do an amazing job throughout the year working on events, fundraising and also working on research to help our children, when you have kids you never know what will happen to them throughout their lifes and to have a group of people there to help and make a difference means a lot to us as parents.
I'll do all the hard yards; train for and complete this event, but I really need your help to make a difference to my charity.
