Few of us haven't been touched by Cancer in some way or other.
I lost my mother to breast cancer when I was 10. To honour the people who helped her - and us - through two gruelling years of treatment, my sister devotes a chunk of her spare time to supporting women at "Look Good Feel Better" and driving patients to their treatments. She's a tireless positive support to these people and I greatly admire her efforts.

Personally, I never seem to have enough time. What I DO have a lot of is HAIR. And my fair share of vanity. So I guess this is my thing!

I saw people doing the FunRazor last year, and it was too late for me to do anything about it - sure I could've rushed out and had my hair chopped off, but what would be the point if I didn't raise some money with it?

Why CHILD Cancer? One of my favourite people in all the world survived cancer as a child. She's strong, beautiful, intelligent, wise, brave, witty, supportive and makes me laugh more than anyone I know. It's truly a blessing to have her as a friend. I can't imagine not having her in my life.

So I look at this from two angles:

1. As an indirect thank you to all the people who treated and supported her and her family when she was a kid, and

2. As a way to help those going through treatments now. I want other people to have the chance to have incredible friends like mine!

I'll do all the hard work; train for (YES there's training involved! I need to eat lots of healthy food to make my hair long & strong, especially if anyone sponsors me by the inch! Plus I have to lose enough weight so I don't look like a bus driver when it all comes off!) and complete this event (if I don't lose my bottle!),
