CanTeen creates situations where friendships grow and their support system can flourish, extending a caring hand to patients and siblings at a time when they can feel there is none, when they need it most.
In the nine months since I’ve joined CanTeen my life has been turned on its head. Being diagnosed with a rare cancer a month shy of my 18th birthday and undergoing harsh chemotherapy treatment forced me to grow up very quickly. CanTeen provided the support that allowed me to be a kid again and truly embrace the good things in life, like friendship. Although CanTeen may not have cured my cancer as the doctors have, this journey I have undertaken has been made a great deal easier because of them.
