Alan passed away peacefully early on Sunday morning in Munich - 07.05.2006. In the previous 15 days, after suffering a heart attack on 22.04.2006.

Although Alan was very ill, he was peaceful throughout throughout his 15 days in intensive care and he was able to leave with real dignity.
On the Sunday Alan died a group of about 15 close friends and family sat with Alan for a few hours and said goodbye.

We will each remember something different about Alan depending, upon how he touched us. On a different day it may be his smile, laughter, sporting ability, sportsmanship, professionalism, caring nature, kind words, generosity, love, and sheer love of lifeâ€¦â€¦ the list is endless.

In whatever way Alan moved us, we are all privileged to have known this remarkable manâ€¦â€¦â€¦

You can continue Alan's generosity and compassion by making a donation to Heart Children New Zealand, a charity Albob supported. Alan loved children, was a New Zealander and was always a child at heart :-)

Heart Children New Zealand is the only charity dedicated to supporting children born with heart defects and their families throughout New Zealand. A congenital heart condition is the most common serious birth abnormality in New Zealand needing ongoing medical intervention. Each week, 12 children are born in New Zealand with a heart defect and every year 30-40 children lose their battle to survive. Congenital heart disease affects one in every 100 children born in New Zealand, or around 600 a year. Our mission is to provide and facilitate the best support and care for these children and their families in New Zealand.
