Life Beyond Pain.

Fraser Bayley is a 25-year-old Aucklander who aims to set the world record for the amount of weight to be leg-pressed in 24 hours. This will be done using the 45 degree incline leg-press commonly found in gyms around the world. This attempt will take place in the middle of summer on the 5 – 6th March 2011, at Auckland’s Browns Bay.

The 24 hour challenge will symbolise the on-going struggle that people with mental illness go through, day by day.

The money raised will help support the Nutters Club through the Foundation’s Out of The Blue programme.

“I want to create this positive change through the Life Beyond Pain challenge, not just in my life but also for others who feel lost in themselves and need a sense of understanding and direction. This is my way to prove to myself and everyone else that you can change and you can make it through the pain. Just because you are under a cloud of mental illness it doesn’t mean you won’t get better. There’s always hope. I’m doing this for anyone who like me has lost someone they cared for to suicide, and anyone who has suffered from depression or mental illness, or cared for someone who has.” - Fraser Bayley
