The Waitakere Charity Fun Run & Half Marathon provides something for everyone: an 11km walk or run or the challenge of a half marathon. This is all about community and everyone having a go!
This WESTY Trust event has contributed enormously to the well-being of Waitakere. It started 15 years ago with 237 entrants and has grown into an iconic event attracting more than 1,000 entries. A portion of the income from entries is contributed to the North Piha Surf Lifesaving Club for the development of junior lifeguards. The balance goes to the WESTY Trust whose aim is to support and promote talented youth in Waitakere City.
Additionally, entrants can support the charities close to their hearts by seeking sponsors. E.g. some people are running to raise funds for Hospice West Auckland this year.
